Fintech platform BharatPe on Wednesday announced the launch of its UPI TPAP (third-party application provider) to facilitate consumer digital payments.

Previously, BharatPe provided digital payment services primarily for merchant-to-merchant transactions. The recent rebranding of the buy-now-pay-later app 'postpe' to 'BharatPe' signifies a strategic move towards a unified brand presence.

Through a partnership with Unity Bank, the new TPAP initiative will enable users to create UPI IDs with the extension @bpunity, streamlining both individual and merchant transactions.

BharatPe's CEO, Nalin Negi, emphasized their commitment to boosting the adoption of digital payments and financial inclusion across India, citing the new UPI TPAP as a pivotal step.

BharatPe's UPI application is currently available to Android users and is scheduled to launch on the Apple App Store in the coming months. Business Head of Consumer at BharatPe, Kohinoor Biswas, highlighted that this rebranding aligns with their mission to offer a secure and seamless digital payment experience.
