Online tax-filing platform ClearTax announced on Wednesday its collaboration with Microsoft to create a streamlined tax-filing solution for gig workers across India via WhatsApp.
Using Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service, ClearTax has developed a user-friendly system that simplifies tax filing. This platform gained traction rapidly, with nearly 98,000 gig workers utilizing the service within just five weeks of its launch. These users are poised to receive significant economic benefits from this new initiative, according to a company statement.
The Bengaluru-based company intends to expand this service to employers, facilitating tax filing and TDS refund claims for blue-collar employees. ClearTax co-founder Archit Gupta emphasized that the ease of tax payment through WhatsApp not only brings immediate relief but also advances the broader goal of financial inclusion.
