In a significant legal development, Cognizant's subsidiary TriZetto has initiated a lawsuit against Infosys in a US federal court, claiming that the Bengaluru-based IT giant illicitly accessed confidential data from TriZetto's healthcare insurance software.

Reacting to the lawsuit, Infosys firmly denied all allegations. The company stated it is aware of the accusations and intends to robustly defend its stance in the court.

The lawsuit, filed in a Texas federal court, specifically accuses Infosys of utilizing data from TriZetto's software, Facets and QNXT, to create and market a similar competing product. Cognizant alleges that Infosys repurposed this data to develop an offering named 'Test Cases for Facets' and created software to extract information from QNXT containing proprietary content.

Adding a layer of intrigue, several former Infosys executives, including Rajesh Varrier and Chief Executive Officer Ravi Kumar S, have recently taken major roles at Cognizant, a move coinciding with the lawsuit's filing.
