Just a month after a judge declared Google's search engine an illegal monopoly, the tech behemoth is now entangled in another antitrust lawsuit, this time targeting its advertising technology.

The Justice Department, backed by a coalition of states, has made opening statements to a federal judge claiming Google holds a monopoly over online advertising technology.

Attorney Julia Tarver Wood from the Justice Department stated, "One monopoly is bad enough. But a trifecta of monopolies is what we have here." Google's lawyer Karen Dunn argued that the case is stuck in an outdated internet era.
