Mystery Projectiles Strike Vessel Near Yemen: Crew Safe
A vessel was hit by unknown projectiles near Yemen's Aden, as reported by the UK Maritime Trade Operations and security firm Ambrey. All crew members are safe, and nearby vessels have been advised to remain alert. Houthi militants have targeted shipping lanes in solidarity with Palestinians, prompting retaliatory actions by Britain and the U.S.

A vessel was struck by unidentified projectiles 83 nautical miles southeast of Yemen's Aden early on Friday, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) and the British security firm Ambrey.
All crew members onboard were reported safe, an advisory note from UKMTO confirmed. The vessel's identity remains undisclosed. Vessels in the vicinity have been advised to maintain high alert and report any suspicious activities, Ambrey added in a separate advisory.
Since November, Houthi militants in Yemen have initiated drone and missile attacks in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden shipping lanes, declaring their actions as support for Palestinians impacted by Israel's war in Gaza. The U.S. and Britain have responded with retaliatory strikes, including shooting down drones and bombing attack sites in Yemen, beginning in February.
