Scorching Heatwave Grips South Bengal
A severe heatwave is anticipated in southern districts of Gangetic West Bengal, with temperatures 3-5°C above normal, according to the IMD. Regions including South and North 24 Parganas will face high temperatures until Sunday. A slight temperature drop is expected from Monday.

Heatwave conditions are forecast to continue in southern districts of Gangetic West Bengal, with temperatures soaring three to five degrees Celsius above normal, as per the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD reported that southern regions, including South and North 24 Parganas, West Medinipur, West Bardhaman, and Birbhum, will experience extreme heat until Sunday.
A respite is expected as maximum temperatures are likely to decrease by two to three degrees starting Monday. Kolkata recorded a high of 37.6 degrees Celsius on Friday, which was nearly three degrees above average.
