Italy's disheartening performance against Argentina resulted in a 50-18 loss during their opening autumn international test in Udine. This match marks Italy's ninth consecutive defeat by the Pumas, with the home team plagued by poor passing and handling errors.
The Italian side suffered an early setback as fullback Ange Capuozzo left the field due to injury, with Argentina quickly taking a 17-0 lead before the first half ended. Italy managed to reduce the deficit to four points with a penalty try and another penalty around the halftime.
However, a comeback was not on the cards. Argentina dominated in the second half, scoring five additional tries. Flyhalf Tomas Albornoz shone for Argentina, tallying 20 points, including one try. Meanwhile, Italy's Giacomo Nicotera's late try provided little comfort as a mere consolation.
