Mumbai's Property Tax Surge: BMC's Record Collection

Mumbai's Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has reported significant success in its property tax collection efforts, amassing over Rs 5,800 crore within the first nine months of the 2024-25 financial year.
Among the collection, Rs 433 crore were gathered in the last two days of 2024, boosting the year-end figures.
While Rs 1,660 crore of the total reflects dues from the previous financial year, BMC remains optimistic about hitting the Rs 6,200 crore target set for the ongoing fiscal period.
