Arshdeep Singh saved his best for the last game, delivering career-best figures of 6 for 40, as India D comprehensively defeated India B by 257 runs to finish their Duleep Trophy campaign with a consolation victory on Sunday.

India D, who began the final day at 244 for 5, ended their second innings at 305, setting India B a target of 373 in a little over 70 overs. Arshdeep, accompanied by Aditya Thakare (4/59), bowled unchanged for 22.2 overs to dismantle Abhimanyu Easwaran's side for a paltry 115.

Arshdeep also recorded a remarkable match figure of 9 for 90, including the prized wickets of India's T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav (16) twice in the same match. Despite a valiant 40 off 43 balls from Nitish Reddy, eight India B batsmen failed to reach double-digit scores, ending their campaign with seven points from three matches.
