U.S. Open quarter-finalist Beatriz Haddad Maia clinched her first WTA 500 singles title at the Korea Open by overcoming top seed Daria Kasatkina in a thrilling final. Initially struggling with first-set jitters, Haddad Maia turned the match around with a series of lethal forehands and a dominant final set.

Kasatkina secured the first set in just 26 minutes, but Haddad Maia fought back in the second set, putting up a stronger fight and winning crucial points. The Brazilian maintained her momentum in the third set, winning 17 of her 22 service points, securing her first title of the year.

After her victory, the 28-year-old expressed her desire to return to Seoul next year. This win adds to her career achievements, marking her fourth WTA singles title.
