New Zealand has overhauled its starting lineup for the Rugby Championship match against South Africa, demoting experienced players Beauden Barrett and TJ Perenara to the bench. Injuries to Ethan Blackadder and Caleb Clarke have also compelled Coach Scott Robertson to make strategic changes.
Robertson stated that the decision to bench Barrett and Perenara, shifting them into 'finisher' roles, was difficult but necessary. 'The All Black jersey is important to all of us. If they have to come on and finish the job, they will,' he added.
Other changes include Will Jordan taking the fullback position and Sevu Reece starting on the right wing. The team aims to avoid the lapses in discipline that cost them the previous match against the Springboks. The updated lineup hopes to bring a refreshed strategy to secure victory.
