Ace Indian shooter Avani Lekhara narrowly missed securing a second medal at the Paralympic Games, finishing fifth in the women's 50m rifle 3 positions SH1 competition on Tuesday.
The 22-year-old, who is paralysed waist-down due to a car accident at age 11, shot a total of 420.6 across kneeling, prone, and standing stages against a competitive field.
Germany's Natascha Hiltrop clinched gold with a score of 456.5, while Slovakian Veronika Vadovicova and China's Cuiping Zhang won silver and bronze respectively. Lekhara had briefly led in the final, but difficulties in the prone stage saw her slip to sixth.
