Onana scored in the 28th minute following a clever free-kick routine, while Duran's 63rd-minute header seemed to seal the game. Leicester responded with a goal by Facundo Buonanotte but failed to level despite sustained pressure and penalty appeals.

Villa's manager Unai Emery expressed satisfaction, albeit with concerns over striker Ollie Watkins' form. Meanwhile, Leicester manager Steve Cooper criticized the refereeing but acknowledged his team's shortcomings. Villa now has six points from three games; Leicester remains on one.
