Lando Norris clinched his third pole position in four races on Saturday, securing a McLaren front-row lockout with teammate Oscar Piastri during qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix.
George Russell will start third for Mercedes, followed by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz, driving an upgraded car. Max Verstappen qualified seventh, while Lewis Hamilton, who led the final practice, will start one place ahead of him.
McLaren could be set to close the 30-point gap to leaders Red Bull during Sunday's race near Milan. Red Bull's Sergio Perez qualified eighth, with Alex Albon and Nico Hulkenberg completing the top 10. Newcomer Franco Colapinto qualified 18th for Williams.
