French engineer Loic Serra is set to become Ferrari's chassis technical director starting this October, the Formula One team announced on Thursday.
Serra will succeed Enrico Cardile, who left the position in July, and will transition to Aston Martin as their chief technical officer next year. Until now, Ferrari's team principal Frederic Vasseur has temporarily overseen the chassis department.
Serra, who currently serves as the performance director at Mercedes, was initially expected to report to Cardile but will now report directly to Vasseur, Ferrari said in a statement.
