John Brooks Returns to Hertha Berlin on Two-Year Deal

The 31-year-old, who rose through Hertha's youth system, became a free agent after playing last season with Hoffenheim. Hertha was relegated from the Bundesliga last season.

United States defender John Brooks has officially returned to Hertha Berlin, signing a two-year contract with the club competing in Germany's second division.
The 31-year-old center back, who progressed through Hertha's youth system, previously spent five professional seasons with the Berlin side.
Brooks played for Hoffenheim last season and entered free agency this summer when his contract expired. The relegation-bound Hertha club confirmed the signing on Thursday.
Born in Berlin, Brooks has spent most of his club career in Germany. He has made 45 appearances for the U.S. national team, including at the 2014 World Cup, though his last international match dates back to 2021.
