Andrea Pirlo has been relieved of his duties as Sampdoria's head coach following a poor start to the Serie B season, in which the team managed just one point from their first three matches.
Sampdoria drew their opening game but suffered defeats in the subsequent two, placing them third from the bottom in the league standings.
Pirlo, who was appointed in June 2023 after the team's relegation from Serie A, only guided them to seventh place last season, missing out on automatic promotion by 18 points.
