Mizoram Eyes Hosting National Games 2032
The Mizoram government has expressed interest in hosting the National Games in 2032 during a meeting with Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju. Sports Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar also discussed preparing athletes for the 2036 Olympics and urged for more skill development schemes for minorities.

The Mizoram government on Thursday informed the Centre of its willingness to host the National Games in 2032. During a meeting in New Delhi, Mizoram Sports Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar conveyed this to Union Minority Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, according to an official statement.
Hmar highlighted that the state is actively preparing athletes for the 2036 Olympics. He also discussed a recent two-day sports conclave held in Aizawl to advance this effort.
Additionally, Hmar requested the inclusion of more skill development schemes for minorities under the Union ministry. Rijiju assured Hmar that he would explore avenues for sports projects and skill development initiatives for Mizoram.
Rijiju also noted his discussions with Mizoram Chief Minister Lalduhoma on the matter.
