Union Minister Kiren Rijiju has clarified concerns about alleged incursions by China's PLA in Arunachal Pradesh, stating that painted marks in undemarcated border areas don't signify encroachment.
Rijiju, an Arunachal Pradesh native, explained that patrolling overlaps between Indian and Chinese forces in these areas but do not lead to territorial encroachment. His comments followed reports of PLA presence in Anjaw district.
Despite pictures circulating on social media showing bonfires and Chinese materials, Rijiju emphasized India's strict vigilance and ongoing infrastructure development along the border. He assured that no permanent constructions by foreign forces are allowed.
