Olympic champion and Women's British Open winner Lydia Ko, 27, announced that her recent victories will not change her decision to retire from professional golf before the age of 30.
In an interview with Radio New Zealand, Ko reiterated her long-held plan to exit the sport before reaching 30 despite her successes in Paris and at St. Andrews. She emphasized the importance of leaving the game while still performing well and expressed her intention to consult her family before finalizing her decision.
Having recently married and embracing life beyond golf, Ko reflected on her journey and identity, sharing that while golf is a part of her, it does not define her entirely. The South Korea-born New Zealander also highlighted her journey from becoming the youngest player to win a professional tournament at age 14 to overcoming a challenging period in her career last year.
