After Bangladesh's stunning 10-wicket triumph over Pakistan in the first Test, captain Najmul Hossain Shanto credited the bowlers for their pivotal roles. Speaking during the post-match presentation, Shanto highlighted the team's hard work over the last few days and praised Shakib Al Hasan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz for their exceptional bowling.

The captain expressed his hopes of continuing their strong form into the second match of the series. 'Especially in the last 10-15 days, we have worked really hard. Credit goes to all the bowlers, Nahid bowled really well, Shakib was also good and Mehidy bowled with a lot of control and bowled the right lines and lengths,' Shanto said. He also commended the efforts of Mushfiqur Rahim and openers Shadman Islam and Zakir, emphasizing Mushfiqur's enduring performance over the years.

The first match of the series in Rawalpindi began with delays due to a wet outfield, but turned into an action-packed encounter by Day 5. Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel scored centuries on Day 2, with Rizwan's unbeaten 171 being a standout. Despite declaring at 448/6, Pakistan faltered on Day 5, folding for 146. Bangladesh's spinners, led by Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Shakib Al Hasan, led the charge as Bangladesh achieved the target of 30 runs in under seven overs without losing a wicket, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.
