TMC MP Mahua Moitra has filed a complaint with the Lokpal against SEBI Chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch, citing potential quid pro quo arrangements that could jeopardize national interests.
Moitra emphasized the need for a thorough investigation, urging the Lokpal to refer the case to the CBI or ED within 30 days for a preliminary probe followed by a full FIR enquiry. She stressed that every involved entity must be summoned and all links examined.
This follows allegations by US short-seller Hindenburg Research, which claimed that Buch had stakes in offshore funds tied to the Adani Group—allegations dismissed as 'baseless' by both the SEBI head and the Adani Group.
