Monaco Clinches Second Straight Win, Lille and Le Havre Also Triumph

Monaco secured a 2-0 victory over Lyon with goals from Eliesse Ben Seghir and Lamine Camara. Lille triumphed over Angers, putting them level with PSG and Monaco at the top of Ligue 1. Le Havre defeated Saint-Etienne for their first win of the season.

Monaco clinched its second consecutive victory in the French league on Saturday, triumphing 2-0 over Lyon.

The goals both came in the second half from rising stars, 19-year-old Eliesse Ben Seghir of Morocco and 20-year-old Lamine Camara of Senegal. Despite Camara receiving a second yellow card in stoppage time, Monaco preserved their lead. Lyon, still without a goal, faced a wave of boos from their home fans at the Parc OL stadium as the final whistle blew.

Elsewhere, Lille overcame newly promoted Angers 2-0, thanks to an early goal from summer signing Thomas Meunier and a stoppage-time strike from Mohamed Bayo. Lille's win puts them equal on points with Paris Saint-Germain and Monaco at the top of the standings, though PSG leads on goal difference.

In the late match, Le Havre earned their first victory of the season by defeating Saint-Etienne 2-0. Abdoulaye Touré scored a penalty, and team captain Arouna Sangante added a header to seal the win. Saint-Etienne, having recently returned to Ligue 1, remains winless this season.
