Manchester City faces a verdict on alleged breaches of Premier League financial regulations, which manager Pep Guardiola insists won't impact team performance. Though charged with 115 counts, the club contests the allegations. An independent commission will review the case with a decision expected early next year.
Manchester City faces an imminent verdict regarding their alleged breaches of Premier League financial regulations. Manager Pep Guardiola has assured fans that the legal battles will not hamper the players' performance as they prepare for Saturday's home game against Ipswich Town.
City was charged with 115 counts dating back to their 2009 acquisition by City Football, owned by the Abu Dhabi United Group. Penalties could be severe, including points deduction or relegation. Nottingham Forest and Everton faced similar penalties last season. However, City denies the charges and is contesting them.
Guardiola stated that the club will accept the independent commission's verdict, expected early next year. Despite the ongoing disputes, City clinched a record fourth straight Premier League title last season after winning the treble during the 2022-23 season. Guardiola emphasized that the team remains focused on their matches.
