Fulham Ink Joachim Andersen: Danish Defender Returns
Fulham FC has acquired Danish centre back Joachim Andersen from Crystal Palace. Andersen, who has played in the Premier League since 2021, returns to Fulham on a contract until 2029. The deal is estimated at 30 million pounds. Andersen will wear the number five shirt, mirroring his former tenure.
Fulham FC has secured a major defensive boost by signing Danish centre back Joachim Andersen from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, with a contract extending until the summer of 2029. The move includes an option for an additional year, the club confirmed on Friday.
Though financial terms weren't officially disclosed, British media sources peg the deal at around 30 million pounds ($39.56 million). Andersen, who has been capped 36 times for Denmark, transferred to Palace in 2021 from Olympique Lyonnais and made 113 appearances for the club.
Upon his return, Andersen will don the number five shirt, identical to the one he wore during his previous loan spell at Fulham in the 2020-21 season. Expressing his sentiments, Andersen stated, "It feels like coming home. I know the club, the players, and the staff, making it an easy decision for me and my family." Fulham, who ended 13th last season, will face Leicester City in their next Premier League match.
