Indian Men's Wrestlers Struggle at Under-17 Championships
India's men's freestyle wrestlers failed to reach the semifinals at the Under-17 World Championships. Out of five participants, only Harsh and Vevik won one round each. Meanwhile, the women's team saw significant success with four new world champions emerging and two contenders for gold medals.

At the Under-17 World Championships, India's men's freestyle wrestlers fell short of the mark, with none making it to the semifinals. The action took place on Saturday, disappointing fans who hoped for a repeat of the women's team success.
Among the five male grapplers, only Harsh and Vevik managed to win their opening rounds. Harsh posted a 6-2 victory against Erbol Bolotov in the 48kg category but was eliminated by Chingis Saryglar in the quarterfinals. Similarly, Vevik clinched an 11-4 win over Aliaksei Kuryla in his first bout but lost by technical superiority to Nikoloz Maisuradze.
In contrast, the women's event saw four new world champions. Aditi Kumari (43kg), Neha (57kg), Pulkit (65kg), and Mansi Lather (73kg) won titles in their respective categories. Additionally, Kajal (69kg) and Shrutika Shivaji Patil (46kg) are in contention for gold medals, underscoring their impressive performances.
