Indian pacer Umran Malik has voiced relief and readiness after recovering from dengue, focusing his efforts on prepping for the Duleep Trophy, commencing on September 5. The fast bowler is now training at Bengaluru's National Cricket Academy (NCA) as he gears up for the domestic season ahead.

Having made his international debut in 2022, Umran has featured in 10 ODIs and eight T20Is for India, snatching up 13 and 11 wickets, respectively. His standout IPL 2022 performance saw him grabbing 22 wickets in 14 games for Sunrisers Hyderabad, underscoring his potential and prowess.

The Duleep Trophy, a cornerstone in India's domestic red-ball cricket, will see top international and emerging players go head-to-head. Starting September 5 in Anantapur and Bengaluru, the tournament's initial squads include prominent names like Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shreyas Iyer, among others.
