Injury Woes: Top Indian Cricketers to Miss Duleep Trophy First Round

Wicketkeeper-batter Ishan Kishan is set to miss the first round of the Duleep Trophy, commencing on Thursday, owing to a groin injury.
Kishan was named in the India D squad, under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer, to play against India C in Anantapur.
According to a statement from the BCCI on Wednesday, Kishan's injury was sustained during the ongoing All-India Buchi Babu Tournament. The BCCI Medical Team is actively overseeing his recovery. Sanju Samson is named as Kishan's replacement, but KS Bharat is likely to take up the wicketkeeping duties for India D.
India A pacer Prasidh Krishna will also miss his first-round game against India B due to ongoing rehabilitation from surgery on his left quadriceps tendon. Meanwhile, Suryakumar Yadav will miss the opening round after injuring his right thumb during the Buchi Babu Tournament. The BCCI Medical Team is continuing its assessment of his injury.
Additionally, pacers Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik withdrew from the tournament due to illness, while reasons for all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja's release from India B remain unspecified. Navdeep Saini and Gaurav Yadav have been named as their replacements.
