Indian javelin star Neeraj Chopra secured a commendable second place at the Lausanne Diamond League, delivering a season's best throw of 89.49m in his final attempt on Thursday.

Initially, Chopra was in fourth spot until his fifth attempt reached 85.58m. Saving his best for last, his final throw of 89.49m eclipsed his Paris Olympics performance.

Anderson Peters of Grenada clinched the top position with a 90.61m throw, while Julian Weber of Germany came in third with 87.08m.
