The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has appointed Ramakrishnan Sridhar, former fielding coach of India, as the national team's assistant coach.

Sridhar will initially be with the team for a one-off Test against New Zealand and a three-match ODI series against South Africa.

The ACB expressed hope for a long-term contract with Sridhar, who has extensive coaching experience, including at the NCA and IPL, and served as India's fielding coach from 2014 to 2021.
