In a dramatic turn of events, junior doctors in Bengal refused to hold talks with the state government unless their demand for live streaming the meeting was met.
The meeting, scheduled to commence at 5 PM in the presence of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, was delayed as the doctors arrived 25 minutes late and stayed outside the venue for over an hour.
Chief Minister Banerjee and senior police officials, including DGP Rajeev Kumar and ADG Supratim Sarkar, along with chief secretary Manoj Pant, were unable to convince the doctors to proceed with the meeting. Chief Secretary Pant emphasized the common goal of resolving health sector issues, yet the doctors remained unyielding in their demand for live streaming.
