World number one Jannik Sinner has been exonerated by an independent tribunal after failing two drug tests in March, the International Tennis Integrity Authority (ITIA) announced on Tuesday.

According to the ITIA, the tribunal, convened by Sport Resolutions, agreed with Sinner's explanation that the anabolic agent clostebol entered his system inadvertently through massages and sports therapy administered by his physio, Giacomo Naldi. Naldi had used an over-the-counter spray containing clostebol to treat a finger wound and subsequently massaged Sinner without gloves.

Sinner's positive drug tests, conducted on March 10 and March 18, led to provisional suspensions, which were lifted after successful appeals. The ITIA found Sinner's version of events credible, but his results, prize money, and ranking points from the ATP Masters 1000 event at Indian Wells remain disqualified. The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and the Italian Anti-Doping Agency may still appeal the tribunal's decision.
