Twice MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia clinched victory at the Austrian Grand Prix on Sunday, securing a weekend double and extending his lead at the top of the world championship by five points. The Italian Ducati rider outperformed his rival Jorge Martin, finishing ahead to take the chequered flag.

Bagnaia, who started second on the grid after dominating practice and winning the sprint on Saturday, overtook Prima Pramac Racing's Martin on the second lap. Despite Martin's strong performance, which included setting a new lap record at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, he finished second. Enea Bastianini completed the podium for an all-Ducati top three finish.

With this victory, Bagnaia's points total rose to 275, five more than Martin, while Bastianini held onto third place with 214 points. 'The pace was incredible,' Bagnaia told reporters, adding that he and Martin achieved remarkable speed and consistency. Bagnaia expressed gratitude to his team and academy for their continuous support, calling it a special day.
