AC Milan Signs Youssouf Fofana: Key Midfielder Joins from AS Monaco

AC Milan has secured the services of French midfielder Youssouf Fofana from AS Monaco on a four-year contract, the Serie A club announced on Saturday. While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, Italian media reports suggest Milan will shell out approximately 25 million euros ($27.57 million) for the 25-year-old, including performance-related bonuses.

Fofana, who has been capped 21 times by the French national team and scored three goals, was reportedly also on the radar of Premier League clubs West Ham United and Manchester United. The signing likely represents the end of manager Paulo Fonseca's transfer activities for this window, as he confirmed on Friday that no additional acquisitions were planned.

Milan's busy transfer window has already seen them bring in striker Alvaro Morata and defenders Emerson Royal and Strahinja Pavlovic. The club is set to launch their Serie A campaign at home against Torino later on Saturday. (Conversion rate: $1 = 0.9068 euros)
