Victor Osimhen has not been included in Napoli's official 23-man Serie A squad for this season, following the collapse of his anticipated transfer. Osimhen, who scored 26 goals to help Napoli clinch the Scudetto two seasons ago, finds himself sidelined as the club moves forward without him.

The Nigerian striker extended his contract with Napoli last December, a deal set to keep him at the club until 2026 with a hefty release clause of 130 million euros. Despite club president Aurelio De Laurentiis's statement that Osimhen would leave at the end of the season, his next destination remains uncertain as negotiations with Chelsea and Al-Ahli reached an impasse.

The transfer window closed on Friday in both Italy and England, with Chelsea unable to meet Osimhen's wage demands and Napoli rejecting Al-Ahli's offer. Subsequently, Al-Ahli turned their attention to other targets, securing the signatures of Ivan Toney from Brentford and Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea.
