Jorge Martin of Prima Pramac Racing shattered records on Saturday, setting a new lap time of one minute 27.748 seconds to secure pole position at the Austrian Grand Prix. His performance puts him ahead of two-time MotoGP champion Francesco Bagnaia.

Currently leading the championship standings by three points, Martin overcame a minor finger injury to finish at the top. "It was difficult. I had a cut on my finger that was really painful this morning. They stitched me up, and despite the discomfort, I was able to ride well," Martin stated.

Francesco Bagnaia, who led the practice sessions on Friday, will start from the second position, while six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez secured the third spot. Other notable performances included Aleix Espargaro in fourth, Jack Miller in fifth, Maverick Vinales in sixth, and Enea Bastianini in seventh.
