British diving star Tom Daley, a five-time Olympic medallist, has officially announced his retirement from competitive diving. Daley's decision came after returning from the Paris Games, where he clinched a silver medal in the men's synchronised 10-metre event alongside Noah Williams.

Daley initially stepped away from the sport following the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, but made a comeback last year at the behest of his older son. His participation in Paris marked a historic milestone as the first British diver to compete in five Olympic Games. "It was emotional at the end, up there on the platform, knowing it was going to be my last competitive dive," Daley, 30, revealed to British Vogue.

Reflecting on his illustrious career and the decision to retire, Daley stated, "It's always hard when you say goodbye to your sport. Lots of things to process, but I think it's the right time." He expressed satisfaction with how his final year unfolded, allowing him to perform in front of his family and his kids, and fulfilling his dream of being a flag-bearer.
