AIFF Calls for Independent Inquiry into Igor Stimac's Contract Renewal Procedures
The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has initiated an independent inquiry into the contract renewal procedures of former head coach Igor Stimac. This follows a USD 400,000 settlement with the Croatian coach after a contractual dispute. The AIFF seeks to address unapproved terms and personnel involvement regarding the contract signed in October 2023, which lacked a severance clause, leading to significant financial loss.

The All India Football Federation (AIFF) on Tuesday announced an independent inquiry into the contract renewal procedures of former head coach Igor Stimac following a controversial settlement of USD 400,000 after his termination.
During its Annual General Body meeting, the AIFF revealed that Stimac had initially filed a USD 920,000 claim before the FIFA Football Tribunal before agreeing to a settlement. The contract, renewed in 2023, left the AIFF in a compromised financial position.
Former AIFF Secretary General Shaji Prabhakaran alleged that the contract without a severance clause was approved by president Kalyan Chaubey, who refuted the claim, stating he was unaware of the contract details.
