Aditi Ashok secured a Top-30 finish with a Tied-29th place at the Paris Olympics on Saturday. Though missing the podium, Aditi remains optimistic about her Olympic dreams. The Bengaluru star, competing in her third Olympics, shot 4-under 68 with seven birdies against three bogeys and aims to return for Los Angeles 2028.

India's other contender, Diksha Dagar, faced personal challenges after her mother's car accident in Paris, resulting in an 80-78 score over the weekend and a T-49 finish. However, she is determined to bounce back in the AIG Women's Open and target the 2028 Olympics.

Overall, it was a tough conclusion for the two Indians, initially in the Top-15. Lydia Ko completed her Olympic medal collection with a gold, adding to her Rio 2016 silver and Tokyo bronze. Esther Henseleit of Germany and Xiyu Lin of China finished with silver and bronze, respectively.

Aditi, who began her pro career with a win at 16, remarked on her strong performance. She emphasized her youth and the potential for future Olympic participation, focusing on improving for Los Angeles 2028. Nelly Korda, Rose Zhang, and Morgane Metraux faced setbacks, diminishing their early leads. (ANI)
