The 32-year-old athlete from Kerala, who battled chikungunya just weeks before the Paris Games, demonstrated outstanding fitness and resilience during his 21-18, 21-12 win over Roth in a 45-minute group K match.
Prannoy will next compete against Vietnam's Le Duc Phat on Wednesday in his final group match. Reflecting on his performance, Prannoy acknowledged the challenging atmosphere but expressed his joy at overcoming early struggles to clinch the win in straight sets.
