Union Minister Amit Shah on Sunday praised the Parsi community for their silent yet immense contributions to India's development, highlighting the role of the Gujarati newspaper Mumbai Samachar in this journey.

Speaking at the release of the documentary 'Mumbai Samachar- 200 Not Out', which chronicles the 200-year history of Asia's oldest newspaper, Shah commended the Camas, who run the publication, as exemplars of journalism grounded in trust.

Entering its 203rd year, Mumbai Samachar has been a cornerstone of Mumbai's identity, reputed for its reliable news. Shah pointed out that the newspaper has covered pivotal events from the death of the Rani of Jhansi to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's oath-taking ceremony in 2014, illustrating its historic significance. He also stressed the need to respect Parsi families, like the Camas, who have consistently contributed to journalism and other crucial sectors, without making demands. Shah also expressed his wish for the documentary to reach a broader audience through Hindi and English dubbing.
