Ben Duckett, Ollie Pope and Harry Brook made crucial half-centuries, propelling England to a strong position at 248-3, leading by 207 runs over West Indies on day three of the second test at Trent Bridge.

Duckett scored 76, Pope 51 and Brook remained unbeaten on 71 as England fought back after falling behind 41 runs in the first innings. Zak Crawley was the early loss for England, getting run out due to an unfortunate deflection from bowler Jayden Seales onto the stumps.

Duckett's 76 included 11 boundaries before he was dismissed leg-before by Alzarri Joseph. Pope, who had a century in the first innings, was caught at gully off Joseph. Brook, with the support of Joe Root who stayed 37 not out, built an unbeaten 108-run partnership, keeping England in control.
