Charles Leclerc crashed his Ferrari in the Hungarian Grand Prix practice on Friday, with McLaren's Lando Norris setting the fastest lap ahead of Red Bull's leading driver Max Verstappen.

Norris recorded a lap at 1:17.788 seconds on a hot track where temperatures soared to 59.7 degrees Celsius. Verstappen, leading the championship by 84 points, trailed 0.243 seconds behind in a newly upgraded car.

Carlos Sainz of Ferrari, who was fastest in the first session, was third, followed by Red Bull's Sergio Perez and Mercedes' George Russell. Leclerc's crash brought out red flags with 43 minutes left in the second practice session. Despite the crash, Leclerc was uninjured and returned to the pits as a passenger. The session resumed after a 15-minute pause.
