In response to ongoing criticism from certain Muslim organizations and opposition parties regarding the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2024, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has devised a strategy to alleviate any fears within the Muslim community. The party intends to present a clear picture of the amendment and the government's intentions, especially to those connected to the Waqf Board.

Sources reveal that BJP's National General Secretary (Organization), B L Santosh, held a crucial meeting on Tuesday at the party headquarters. Attendees included current and former chairpersons of Waqf Boards from various states and Waqf experts. Dushyant Gautam, BJP's National General Secretary, and National President of BJP Minority Morcha Jamal Siddiqui were present, along with other state leaders involved in Waqf matters.

During the meeting, senior BJP leaders stressed the importance of BJP-affiliated Muslim community members, particularly those linked to the Waqf Board, attending the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) meetings to express their viewpoints. The gathering emphasized the need to counter the atmosphere of confusion and mistrust surrounding the Waqf Amendment Bill and encouraged communication of the government's positive intentions and the bill's benefits, particularly for underprivileged Muslims and women.
