Sumit Nagal, who is set for the Paris Olympics, has climbed to a career-high ATP singles ranking of 68, according to the latest list released on Monday. The 26-year-old Indian tennis player moved up five spots from his previous best ranking of 71.
This milestone positions Nagal as the fourth highest-ranked Indian male player since 1973, surpassing former World No. 71 Sashi Menon. Only Vijay Amritraj, Ramesh Krishnan, and Somdev Devvarman have ranked higher.
Recent successful performances, including his victory at the Heilbronn Neckarcup 2024 Challenger and the Chennai Open, have greatly contributed to his ranking improvement and qualification for the Paris Olympics singles event.
