Delhi witnessed alarmingly poor air quality this week, moving into the 'severe' category, prompting immediate responses from the city's government.

Environment Minister Gopal Rai has attributed this drop in air quality to both climate conditions, specifically stagnant winds and a decline in temperature, which have trapped pollutants.

Rai announced that while the Graded Response Action Plan Level III measures were not yet imposed, stronger implementations under GRAP II would be enforced to curb pollution and protect public health in the coming days.
