Residents of Anakkallu were left in panic on Tuesday night following mysterious explosion-like sounds accompanied by tremors. Police reported that the first sound was heard at 9:15 pm, with subsequent sounds at 10:15 and 10:45 pm, prompting the evacuation of nearly 300 people.

The sounds, reportedly heard within a two-kilometer radius, created unease among locals as cracks appeared in some homes. A local panchayat member, Omana, explained that after consultations with officials and a site inspection, families were moved to a nearby school for safety.

Although villagers began returning to their homes on Wednesday morning, anxiety prevails as such phenomena have been noted for over a week. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, ensuring all necessary precautions are taken to ensure public safety.
