An elevator accident in Thane left an 11-year-old girl injured after the lift crashed from the first floor of a highrise building. The incident occurred on Monday evening at a 41-storey structure on Pokhran Road No. 1.
The elevator cable snapped as it traveled from the ground floor to the first, leading to a sudden fall, according to the Disaster Management Room's official report. Fortunately, three other occupants emerged unscathed.
Emergency response teams, including police, fire brigade, and Disaster Management Cell personnel, arrived quickly at the site. All individuals trapped within the elevator were safely rescued, though the young girl required medical attention for a leg injury.
