In the wake of Cyclone Dana's fierce landfall on the Odisha coast, restoration efforts are swiftly underway. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has been instrumental in clearing uprooted trees across Dhamara's villages, with its intervention crucial in minimizing disruption for the region's residents.
Bhadrak's Additional District Magistrate, Shantanu Mohanty, assured that vulnerable populations have been secured in cyclone shelters. Essential services like electricity have been restored, while emergency teams such as the Fire Services, ODRF, and NDRF remain on standby. A red alert persists in Bhadrak as heavy rainfall poses continuous risks, prompting officials to urge residents to stay indoors.
Odisha's Chief Minister, Mohan Charan Majhi, surveyed the situation alongside top officials, lauding the administration's preparedness that resulted in zero casualties. Over 6 lakh individuals, including 6,000 pregnant women, were safely relocated. Meanwhile, airport operations at Bhubaneswar and Kolkata have cautiously resumed, offering critical connectivity as transportation services normalize in the cyclone's aftermath.
