In a harrowing incident in Karnataka's Shivamogga district, a traffic policeman was dragged atop a car bonnet on Thursday after attempting to halt the vehicle for a routine check, according to the police.

The dramatic events unfolded around 2 PM near Sahyadri College when officers flagged a car from Bhadravati. Instead of stopping, the driver, identified as cable operator Mithun Jagdale, accelerated, causing the officer to cling to the car for over 100 meters.

Shivamogga Superintendent of Police Mithun confirmed that the officer narrowly escaped death, and the accused has been arrested with an investigation ongoing.
